I have never curled before, can I join? YES! We will teach you and your friends how to curl at one of our upcoming Learn2Curls or during League times. Once you complete a Learn2Curl, (or you have curled before somewhere else, you are ready to join and play in our pickup leagues.
Can I play on a team with my friends or family? YES! A curling team has four players (a fifth can be added as a substitute). We will make every effort to place you with your friends or family. We typically want to put an experienced player on or with your team as well to help you develop as a curler, understand strategy, etc. so playing with a four-person all new curler team is possible and you will always have an instructor nearby.
How many games are in a League? Our curling season typically runs from early Novemember through Late March. Our schedule includess 16 to 18 weeks of on ice fun!
How much does it cost to play in a league? Membership dues for the 2024-2025 season are $240.00. This covers ice time for unlimited curling, as well as membership to USA Curling, the national governing body for the sport, and to the Wisconsin State Curling Association (WSCA) and the United States Womens Curling Association (USWCA). Among the benefits of membership in these organizations are an opportunity to compete in state, national and international events, as well as on-ice insurance.
For 2024-25, if you join after January 1, dues are prorated at a rate of $15 times the number of weeks remaining in the season, with a minimum dues of $65.00.
Do you have a junior program? Not yet! Our ice time is extremely limited and is at the generosity of the Rhinelander Ice Area. Our Leagues can accommodate juniors on a case-by-case basis. We hope to develop a junior/high school program in the future.
